“Japan Life with Seibu”

私たちは全ての人が住みやすい場所を目指しています。

What motivated you to come to Japan and what was the purpose of your stay?

My initial reason for coming to Japan was a combination of my fascination with Japanese fashion and my family connections. During my visit to Osaka, I was captivated by the allure of Japanese fashion. I observed not just the makeup trends but also the diverse cultural expressions flourishing here. Additionally, having a one-year-old cousin who is half Japanese and half Filipino played a significant role in my decision. This family connection inspired me to learn Japanese and strengthen my bond with my Japanese relatives.

How long have you been living in Japan?

I’ve been in Japan for almost two years now. My first visit was during my college years, and I returned after receiving a scholarship from Japan.

Why did you choose to live along the Seibu Line?

I chose the Seibu Line mainly for its proximity to Ikebukuro, where my school is located. It was recommended to me by friends, relatives, and especially by my seniors. Moreover, the convenience of the Seibu Line significantly eased my life by providing easy access to places I’m familiar with.

How do you find living in Sakuradai?

Sakuradai might be smaller compared to other stations, but that’s exactly where its charm lies. The area is peaceful, and the abundance of nearby restaurants and bakeries is incredibly convenient. Wandering around this relaxed neighborhood feels like receiving a warm hug from the community. Additionally, unwinding in the shops and cafes around Nerima Station is a real treat. It’s more than just a train station; it feels like a place that’s like a family, full of surprises.

Do you have any favorite spots around Sakuradai?

Definitely! There’s this amazing bakery near Nerima Station. It’s not just any ordinary bakery; it’s a homey space where family and friends can relax and connect. The bakery’s warm and inviting atmosphere is ideal for strengthening bonds with loved ones. Sometimes, it’s so cozy that I even fall asleep there. It’s more than just a place for a quick snack; it’s a comfortable refuge that brings a touch of sweetness to everyday life.

Do you find the Seibu Line convenient for commuting?

Absolutely, the Seibu Line is incredibly convenient. I like to think of it as a magic carpet that whisks me away to exciting places, not just an ordinary train (laughs). It offers super easy access to Shinjuku, and I can reach Ikebukuro in just 9 minutes. The Seibu Line turns my daily commute into a meaningful and convenient experience.
