“Japan Life with Seibu”

私たちは全ての人が住みやすい場所を目指しています。

What motivated you to come to Japan and what was the purpose of your stay?

I was keen on studying how English is taught as a second language, so I chose Japan, where English isn’t the main language. The reason I picked Japan is its grammatical similarities to Mongolian and my understanding of Kanji, which I thought would make studying here easier.

How long have you lived in Japan?

It’s been nearly 7 years now!

Why did you choose to live along the Seibu Line?

I went for Takanodai Station because it’s only a 10-minute walk from the university where I completed my master’s degree. Plus, it’s a bit away from the city center, which means it’s closer to nature. I thought it would offer a very comfortable living environment.

How is life in Takanodai?

The station is straightforward in its layout, so you won’t find yourself getting lost like you might in city stations! It’s also super convenient for meeting up with friends. Being close to Saitama, it’s easy to explore lots of natural spaces (I’m really fond of the various natural areas in Saitama…). Plus, just a few minutes’ walk from the station, there’s a hiking trail along Tamagawa-josui, brimming with nature, which is absolutely wonderful!

Any favorite spots around the station where you live?

I always make a point to visit Midori Bunko, a used bookstore that’s become a favorite of mine! They have a selection of international books too. The atmosphere there is just wonderful. I also frequently dine at a restaurant called ASPEN.

I gather you use the Seibu Line for your commute. Is it convenient?

Yes, for work or leisure, I usually start with the Seibu Kokubunji Line, switch to the Seibu Shinjuku Line, and then onto the Seibu Ikebukuro Line. It’s convenient for getting around, and I actually find the slightly longer journey quite comfortable.
